Short Partner Profile:
JSI is a leading Slovenian scientific research institute, covering a broad spectrum of basic and applied research. A staff of more than 850 specializes in natural sciences, life sciences and engineering. A substantial part of the activities concerns production and control, communication and computer, and knowledge technologies. JSI has strong international presence. Its staff is currently involved in more than 180 projects. Approximately half of them are projects of FP6 and FP7, while the other are IEE, COST, NATO, IAEA, INTERREG, ERA-NET and other types. Many of the projects directly promote knowledge and technology transfer, e.g. in the frame of European Innovation Relay Centre (IRC) network.

The Department of Systems and Control, which directly participates in the proposed project, has more than 20 years experience in research and application of industrial control and is deeply involved in various projects related to industrial informatics and embedded systems. Since its foundation it has played a leading role in integrating researchers from academia, small companies, system integrators and industrial end-users. The team has initiated and co-founded the Technology Network for Process Control Technology, the Technology Centre for Automation, Robotics and Industrial informatics (ARI), and the Centre of Excellence for Advanced Control Technologies.
